Welcome

Dear Friend:

January is National Stalking Awareness Month, a time that challenges our nation to fight this dangerous crime by learning more about it. Once again, the Stalking Resource Center of the National Center for Victims of Crime is pleased to join the Office on Violence Against Women of the U.S. Department of Justice in presenting a versatile set of resources to help you plan your observance of 2010 National Stalking Awareness Month and your outreach throughout the year. We hope these new and revised tools will inspire your efforts to know, name, and stop stalking in your community.

Michelle Garcia, Director
Stalking Resource Center

Dear Colleague:

The U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women, proudly joins the Stalking Resource Center of the National Center for Victims of Crime in presenting this award-winning National Stalking Awareness Month Web site. We have assembled a wide range of artwork, media tools, fact sheets, brochures, and additional resources for you to download and distribute throughout your community. This Web site also features an educational quiz—an interactive way for members of your community to test their awareness of stalking behaviors. We hope these resources prove helpful as you plan your outreach activities for 2010 National Stalking Awareness Month. The better your community understands stalking, the more equipped it will be to support victims and combat this insidious crime.

Catherine Pierce, Acting Director
Office on Violence Against Women
U.S. Department of Justice
